Obama said “By hook or crook, we’re going to make sure…”

In an interview with the Huffington Post where President Obama, expressed his deep displeasure in the results of Tuesday’s elections in Israel where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu won an overwhelming victory in a free, fair and democratic election where even Arab Israelis (20% of the population) voted in droves.

[cp_quote style=”quote_left_dark”]”What we have done,” Obama said, “is consistently looked for additional opportunities to get stuff done. … By hook or by crook, we’re going to make sure that when I leave this office…”[/cp_quote]

Before we go further, for those who don’t know what those words mean and words have meaning, let me help you…

“By hook or by crook” is an English phrase meaning “by any means necessary”, suggesting that one need not be concerned with morality or other considerations when accomplishing some goal. The phrase is very old, first recorded in the Middle English text Controversial Tracts by John Wyclif in 1380.

I’ll explain that for you in case you have difficulty with the nuances of words uttered by the President of the United States.  He said directly and with conviction, one need not be concerned with morality or other considerations when accomplishing some goal.  This is the approach he will take with Israel and the people of the United States and the World.  He will go after his goals “By hook or Crook” without concern for morality.  His words were first posted in the Huffington Post March 21 in an article titled  “Obama Details His Disappointment With Netanyahu In First Post-Election Comments.”  His actions past present and future match his words.

For that Mr. President you get our Inconvenient Hypocrite of the Year Award and the year is not even one quarter over yet.

Interestingly in the same week we award Benjamin Netanyahu our Inconvenient Hero of the Year Award.

What a contrast between these two men.

I am an independent observer of life... amused and at the same time frightened by those who speak for the people and make no personal commitment to their stated beliefs. If you believe in global warming make a small personal carbon footprint don't force others. If you believe in freedom of speech, allow others to speak. Elected leaders, represent everyone not just your special interest groups. If you condemn racism don't tolerate it within your own race. If an opinion does not match yours, listen with an open mind you may be the one who is wrong.
