Who misses Bill Clinton about now? A serious question…

Now this may seem like a very odd post for a conservative forum.  We are an Independent forum however and not a wing of the Republican party.  We are thinkers and not blind followers.  I full well remember much of the goings on that alarmed me during the Clinton Presidency.  I recall hoping for his impeachment.  I remember corruption and government growth.  I also remember corruption and government growth under George Bush and I liked him.

Now why did I tolerate more under George Bush?  Perhaps it was because he told it like it was and did what he said.  You knew where George stood and he listened to everyone and I believe he tried to represent everyone not just conservatives.  Perhaps it was just because he was Republican that I tolerated him.  Now considering their differences and looking back on Bill Clinton, the deficit did not grow under his Presidency.  Bill Clinton sensed the will of the people and even though he was a liberal Democrat he had a good grasp of what representing the people meant.  Now it may have been to get re-elected but none the less he sensed the mood of the public and reacted to the mood of the public in a manner that could resemble following the will of the people.

Consider the authoritarian atmosphere that has permeated the White house, Congress, Senate and the Cabinet under the Reign of Obama in the past year.  Hold that fresh in your mind.  Now ask yourself this question.  Do you miss Bill Clinton?  Pause before you answer too quick.  Use that comparison as a wake up call to how far left and off track this country has come in such a short time.  Bill knew what we were getting into and he warned us.  Oh how I wished the people had listened to him about now.  Holding that image in my mind, I actually miss Bill Clinton…       Still would not have voted for him but I would choose 8 years of Clinton again over one year of Obama.

I am an independent observer of life... amused and at the same time frightened by those who speak for the people and make no personal commitment to their stated beliefs. If you believe in global warming make a small personal carbon footprint don't force others. If you believe in freedom of speech, allow others to speak. Elected leaders, represent everyone not just your special interest groups. If you condemn racism don't tolerate it within your own race. If an opinion does not match yours, listen with an open mind you may be the one who is wrong.
