Brian Williams Admits He Never Came Under Fire in Iraq: “I Apologize”

This is serious folks, but unfortunately not unusual.  A very prominent and very trusted reporter lies through his teeth in an attempt to sensationalize himself and what he was “reporting.”  This is not like guys on Jerry Springer or Maury Povich claiming they had sex by ACCIDENT!  But then again it is a bit like Clinton claiming “I never had sex with that woman…”

My nomination for Inconvenient Hypocrite of the week.  Brian Williams.  I’ll quote The Hollywood Reporter.  But before I go on Just imagine if Rush, Glenn, Hannity, O’Reilly, Shepard Smith or Bret Baier had lied like that.  Their would be legions of left calling for resignations and boycotts of their advertisers for a very long time.

After twelve years, Brian Williams is coming clean, admitting the helicopter he traveled in during NBC’s coverage of the 2003 Iraq invasion never once came under fire, despite Williams’ story to the contrary.

On Jan. 30, NBC Nightly News posted a video of Williams to Facebook, in which Williams recounts the story during a news segment. Williams references “a terrible moment a dozen years back during the invasion of Iraq, when the helicopter we were traveling in was forced down after being hit by an RPG.”

A user by the name of Lance Reynolds, who purported to have served in Iraq during the incident in question, subsequently commented on the video, writing, “Sorry dude, I don’t remember you being on my aircraft.”

Reynolds added, “I do remember you walking up about an hour after we had landed to ask me what had happened. Then I remember you guys taking back off in a different flight of Chinooks from another unit and heading to Kuwait to report your ‘war story’ to the Nightly News.”

Willams responded to the comment via his verified account, writing, “To Joseph, Lance, Jonathan, Pate, Michael and all those who have posted: You are absolutely right and I was wrong….[/cp_quote]

Don’t make excuses Brian.  You tried to say in so many words that you were mixed up and that’s how you got it wrong.  Really?

You lied for your own self interest and that’s the end of it.  You have questioned others motives.  You are part of the media stream that indoctrinates, not reports.  Brian tell it like it is.  Say “I lied”, “I did it to promote myself”, ” I was wrong and there is no excuse.  I was not mixed up.”

Now my friends ask yourself how many other lies has he told?
